  1. I was Roger's tablemate on an Australian cruise a few years back, and can confirm his love of lemon tea - and his contempt for any waitstaff that didn't bring it quickly enough, frequently enough, or properly prepared!

I coincidentally live in Victoria too, and for years had remarked at the misfortune of whoever it was who lived at the unseen end of that northbound Malahat driveway that empties straight into the southbound flow of the Trans-Canada. "Imagine coming down THAT on a frosty morning. Thank God it's someone else and not me" was my usual refrain as I passed it. So half a world away in Australia there he was, at my table, hectoring the waiter on some iced tea issue.

I have since had occasion to navigate that driveway and its death-defying entrance onto the highway, and can tell you the physicist did well to have made it to 91. We'll miss him, orange suspenders and all.
